The GS1000, an upscaled and optimized version of previous years GS750, Suzuki’s first large-displacement four-stroke model, was released in 1978. The engine design was based on the Kawasaki Z1 with a strong focus on improved reliability. It was subject to a multitude of extensive tests during development to the point when race legend Hideo Yoshimura, known as POP Yoshimura, stated that it has “Excessive Quality”. Starting with the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race in 1978, the GS1000s was victorious in numerous races including the next year’s AMA Superbike and Daytona Superbike class.

Forty years later, while genuine parts have become scarce and customer demands are increasing, BITO R&D consequently responded with the development of the JB-POWER GS1000 complete machine. Installing ultra-light JB MAGTAN wheels and titanium exhaust reduced weight and significantly enhanced handling and chassis balance. The aged yet rock-solid powerplant was upgraded with JB big-bore forged aluminum pistons and a 35mm Flat-CR carburetor. JB-POWERs special frame reinforcement and rigid aluminum swingarm assist in dealing with the newly gained power. The JB-POWER GS1000 Complete Machine’s revised high-torque engine, revving smoothly from the low-end and a nimble, almost sport-bike like handling make its “Excessive Quality” all the more prominent.
