In 1979, when I participated in the Bordeaux 24-hour endurance race in Southern France with Suzuki Motors, our GS1000R was more than 20kg heavier than its rival the Honda RCB1000. In fact, the French rider Michel Rougerie used to call it “Tank”. Due to an accident, our race was over after 18 hours. In my revision report of that race, I suggested exchanging the, at that time very common, steel pipe exhaust system with a full titanium merge collector one to reduce the machine’s weight.
After having worked for Honda (HRC), I founded BITO R&D in 1983 and launched the world’s first commercially available full titanium merge collector exhaust system in 1986. 34 years since then and the JB-POWER titanium exhaust systems which are made under my firm belief that “I want to provide really good things to my customers” are used by many people. Its specific gravity of 4.5, 40% less than iron, high strength, and extreme corrosion resistance make titanium is an ideal material. Needless to say that nowadays, most manufacturers are also able to produce and sell titanium exhausts.
However, only our technical prowess, the foresight to utilize ultra-light, rust-free, industry-leading 0.7 mm thin titanium pipes with φ45.1mm, φ42.7mm, or φ38.8mm diameter, depending on model and application, and pioneering the commercialization made this development possible. Rather than aiming for high output like most exhaust, I focused on creating something with remarkably light to reduce the motorcycle’s weight. Just imagine how a bike would run if you reduce the exhaust’s weight from 18kg STD to 3.5kg…. I think that there is no need for an explanation. Only the owner can be fully enjoyed the beautiful hand-bending and the enticingly pleasant exhaust sound.
Features
Each pipe is hand-bend one at a time resulting in an elaborately complex shape, creating a functional beauty and marvelous sound that only the owner can fully enjoy. The JB-POWER exhaust system with its beautiful shape and smoothly flowing curves is hand-bend one at a time and very different from the exhausts that are mass-produced on an NC pipe bender. Although it is an industrial product that is built without compromises, like its flanges and collars are luxuriously machined from solid titanium, the JB-POWER exhaust system continues to attract many people with its handcrafted, art-like shape, quality, and finish.
Light
Freely bending the ultra-thin 0.7mm titan pipes to the smooth and delicate lines of our JB-POWER exhausts, can only be achieved by a hand-bending technique in which we fill the pipes with sand to prevent the cross-section reduction or kinks. The excessive weight reduction achieved by our JB-POWER titanium exhaust systems greatly improves the riding performance of the motorcycle, giving the rider a great advantage.
Durable
Titanium is not only extremely light but also renowned for its strength and corrosion resistance. In carefully considering the individual engine vibration characteristics of each motorcycle model, BITO R&D defines and implements the most suitable connection method for each location like spring-loaded insertion or direct welding, to improve durability.
Sound
The exhaust system is not just a part to get rid of waste gases but also plays a similar role to a musical instrument that not only requires high-performance and beautiful construction but also a gracefully refined sound. We position this as JB-MUSIC and create exhausts that play a delightfully uplifting, pleasant tone.

Silencer Length & Diameter
At BITO R&D, we carefully select the available silencer length and diameter combinations for each model motorcycle we work with depending on its engine output and characteristics. However, we can change the silencer dimensions combination according to your preference upon order.
Specs
We offer three silencer specifications: street, semi-race, and race, each with different flow characteristics, from which you can choose according to your application and field of usage.
Street
This silencer type uses an inner baffle that interferes with the exhaust gas to achieve a high grade of noise-canceling and flow control, resulting in a gracefully refined sound and an advantage for the carburetor setting.
Semi Race
Although this silencer type is not equipped with an inner baffle, it prevents a too high flow rate while adequately reducing the sound volume through a gradually decreasing inner diameter. The perfect choice for circuit-oriented riders!
Race
For race users who aim to improve exhaust efficiency with an optimal, constriction free gas flow this silencer type has the same inner diameter as the tailpipe.
