The legend of the GSX1100S (Katana), released in 1981, began with a meeting of Hans A. Muth, the representative of Target Design and Masao Tani, Suzuki Europe\u2019s Chief of Marketing, who was looking for someone to redesign the Suzuki 550 and 650 series. After seeing the first design ideas Suzuki placed the order to create a futuristic and innovative motorcycle that would revolutionize the production motorcycle market. Until then Suzuki had a reputation for making motorcycles with solid engines and good handling yet the design left something to be desired that changed entirely with the release of the \u201cepoch-making\u201d GSX1100S (Katana).<\/p>\n

To bring the Katana into the 21st<\/sup> century, we installed JB reinforced aluminum swingarm, JB-KYB \u03c638mm\u3000front fork, milled aluminum fork bridge, JB ultra-light MAGTAN wheels, JB-KEIHIN FCR \u03c637mm carburetor, JB hand bend titanium exhaust, and JB-COSWORTH forged aluminum pistons. Suspension, engine, bodywork, almost everything has been tweaked to optimize the running, turning and stopping performance while preserving the beautiful and distinctive styling.
